IMPORTANT: As of April 30th, 2023, all applications for entry visas to Cameroon shall be submitted online exclusively via the e-Visa platform.

What you will need: 

  1. U.S. Passport – You must provide your signed passport. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have a blank page available.
  2. Cameroon Visa Application Forms – Please provide 2 (two) completed visa application form; Application- Visa Cameroon The application forms must be filled out completely and have answers for all fields. It must display your full name as appears in your passport, and it must be signed.
  3. Washington Express Visas Visa Request Form – filled out completely.
  4. Photographs – Please provide 2 (two) color, passport size photos. The photographs must be printed on photo paper, must be 2″ by 2″ and have a white background, and must have been taken in the last 6 months.
  5. Proof of sufficient financial funds (either your latest bank statement or a letter from your bank).
  6. Copy of your airline ticket or travel agent itinerary.
  7. Hotel confirmation with your name on it.
  8. Letter of invitation from a family member or tour company, notarized and legalized by the police department in Cameroon.
  9. Copy of the vaccination certificate showing proof of yellow fever immunization.  DO NOT send the original vaccination certificate.

For minors, the following documents must also be submitted:

  1. Notarized letter of support jointly signed by both parents or legal guardians agreeing to the trip and specifying who will be traveling with the child.
  2. If parents or guardians are Cameroonians, include original passport(s) and copy of immigration documents demonstrating US residency status.
  3. If parents or guardians are not Cameroonians, copy of passport photo and information pages.
  4. If child will be traveling with third party, copy of their passport photo and information pages or original Cameroonian passport and copy of US visa/green card in addition to information from parents.

A business letter of introduction from your company (on company letterhead) addressed to the Embassy of Cameroon stating the purpose of travel, the name and contact of the company in Cameroon you’re visiting, and a financial guarantee for all of your expenses. Click here to see a sample business letter.
  6. Legalized letter of invitation/introduction from the company you are visiting in Cameroon.
  7. Copy of your airline ticket or travel agent itinerary.
  8. Copy of the vaccination certificate showing proof of yellow fever immunization.  DO NOT send the original vaccination certificate.

Required vaccination against: YELLOW FEVER

Exempt from Yellow Fever vaccination:

  • Transit passengers not leaving the airport.
  • Children under 1 year of age.

Recommended:

  • Malaria prophylaxis. Malaria risk – mainly in the malignant (P. falciparum) form – exists throughout the year in the whole country. P. falciparum resistant to chloroquine and sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine reported. Recommended prevention: IV.
  • Passport and/or passport replacing documents must be valid on arrival.

Visa Issuance:

  • On arrival: if required, to those holding a prior approval from  Le Delegue General de L’Immigration .

Additional Information:

  • All persons disembarking in Cameroon must hold confirmed onward or return tickets and other documents required for their next destination.

Warning:

  • Non-compliance with entry requirements will result in deportation of the passenger and fines of between XAF 5,000.- and XAF 5,000,000.- for the carrier.
